I was looking through some photos while I was at home and came across this. It’s a 16 year old me with my first car. I didn’t know this photo existed, but I am happy it does. Came across while I was looking for this:

Yup, granddad bought it new in 1997. Had basically every option minus leather and a CD player.

16 year old me, Halloween. Had a Datsun truck that someone stole, crashed and dropped their wallet while fleeing the scene. First vehicle and I only got to drive it once... Was replaced with a Mercury Sable. Bleh

This was also in 2006, but shortly before I sold my beloved 4Runner for my first car with AC a 2001 Audi S4.

Edit: Hell, I still have that shirt...but those sunglasses I broke in a Marine bathroom in a hurry. Sigh.

My grandfather bought it new and gave it to me when I got my license. I didn’t get to chose the car let alone the color. I hated the color at the time but it grew on me. If I had been allowed to buy my first car, it would have had a roundel on it. I never complained about it, I was happy to have a free car.

Funny. My Step-Grandfather bought the 4Runner new and later sold it to my dad who I bought it from. I went on countless roadtrips in it and it was the car I learned to drive stick on at 16. I sold it when I was 26. I about cried.

The E90 M3 wasn’t even a thing back then and I was barely seeing E90s run around Roswell.

I don’t have many pictures of my car, unlike the M3.

I had a bunch of other shit going on at the time, so me losing my first car wasn’t the biggest emotional thing I had going on. I was sad but it was time to move on.
